One on One Pilot Academy
Advanced classes for students in high school or above (ages 15-18)
This is a one on one (private instruction) class designed exclusively around that particular student (ages 15-18). New students as well as students who have graduated from one of CAA's other Pilot Academies may enroll in this course.
The HS One on One Pilot Academy will prepare students to actually solo (fly alone) by the time they turn 16! Students will work with instructors to cover all the pertinent parts of 14 CFR part 61.87 to ensure they are both safe and proficient to take the controls and act at Pilot-in-Command.
Classes and actual flight lessons will be scheduled on an individual basis and meet on weekdays at a mutually agreeable time between the student and instructor.
It is important to note that this is the most rigorous of CAA's Pilot Academy courses for students. There is a substantial time and financial commitment involved for students and parents alike. Our instructors will work with you to customize a timeline based on the students performance and personal goals (the timeline must not exceed 12 months to solo). While there is no FAA mandated minimum number of hours for solo, to be both proficient and safe, the average student needs close to 100 landings, and 20-30 hours of flight time (among other requirements).
Instruction: $389/mo for 3 ground lessons and one flight lesson
Flights: Additional flights may be taken as needed and are billed at the normal hourly rate for the aircraft of your choosing.
